We are the best in the business — I completely believe that. Clients tell us all the time that what distinguishes us from our competition is our ability to forge strong, productive relationships and demonstrate true collaborative spirit. Like me, Conifer’s core management team has many, many years of experience in the healthcare arena and we can effectively relate to what the hospital’s Administration, Marketing and Business Development teams and Program Coordinators are grappling with. We have all been there and we have a keen sense of what is important and how to achieve it. Of course, unlike many of our competitors, healthcare and servicing the acute care hospital market is all we do.

Why do you like working at Conifer? What inspires you to come to work everyday?

It is an immense source of pride for me to be a part of Conifer Patient Communications. You could say that we have grown together. From inception to our current place as an industry leader — it has been an exciting 15 years for me. The fact that each day we strive to meet the demands of the healthcare market, when hospitals are being challenged to drive volume and, in some cases, do more with less, keeps it fresh and endlessly challenging.

Ann Hunter

Vice President, Customer Service and Clinical Quality

Ann Hunter has a burning desire to improve the quality of service hospital patients receive. An accomplished coach and motivator, she trains and inspires Conifer’s Customer Service Representatives to make a positive impact on every patient who calls.

Ann was also instrumental in developing Conifer’s Medical Necessity Screening Service, which helps emergency room case managers determine appropriate levels of care for patient admissions.

Before joining Conifer Ann worked in the managed care arena as Vice President of Operations for HealthPlan Services and Director of Claims Administration for Dun and Bradstreet Plan Services.

Ann is an expert at helping hospitals provide appropriate covered care and she is ready to put her experience to work for you.

Chris Martin

Vice President, Sales

Chris views his return to Conifer Patient Communications as invigorating and inspiring. His past efforts in the development of MEDContact were an integral part of the company’s ultimate evolution into Conifer’s current industry-leader status.

A seasoned sales executive, Chris has been engaged across a broad spectrum of healthcare including marketing platform and interactive patient care technologies. Most recently, he led sales and field training for a publicly-traded specialty pharmaceutical company.

Chris holds a degree in Organizational Communications from the University of Kansas where he was a four-year varsity letterman and national competitor in springboard and platform diving. He resides in Tampa with his wife, Emily, and is engaged in his spare time helping serve the local epilepsy community.

Deborah Green

Director of Business Development

Once you become a Conifer client, Deborah Green is the person you are going to talk to as she develops the products to drive patient volume. Deborah leads the team that develops, implements and manages Conifer’s Patient Communications programs, and she assigns your single point of contact. Deborah believes in Conifer immersing itself in your business and becoming a true strategic partner. She sees her team as an extension of your team.

Deborah brings over 24 years of healthcare experience with a proven record of creating highly effective programs for clients. Her expertise in HIPAA, Safe Harbor and Stark regulations ensures strict compliance.

Before joining Conifer, Deborah was Managing Director for Communications at HIP Health Plans of Greater New York. She is also an active member of the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development. Deborah holds a business degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a healthcare management degree from Baruch College.

Viki Smith

Director, Results Reporting and Analytics

How well is your marketing campaign working? Viki Smith leads the team that gathers and analyzes your marketing data, and can track it to the smallest detail. She can tell you if your radio ad worked and give you real-time results. Viki and her team can provide you with defined, meaningful metrics to make the case for every marketing dollar you spend. Reports are available daily, weekly, monthly, or annually.

Viki takes personal pride in the level of expertise and service we provide. She has been a manager in healthcare for 18 years, and was in retail management the 12 years prior. She also serves on the Client Advisory Panel of HealthLine Systems, Inc.
